Frequently Asked Questions in Using University Forms
Please consider that these pages are under construction and many forms are in the process of change. Check here frequently and use the most recently revised forms.
Downloading a form
To use the template you must first download it to your personal computer or network. Do this by clicking on the template name to be downloaded. A dialog box will appear allowing you to specify the location to save the template. After saving the template it can be used with your Word or Excel application as you would with any other template or document.
Moving between fields
Use the TAB key to move between cells within the template instead of the Enter key or Arrow keys.
ISU Voucher Totals
ISU Voucher: Note that you must fill in Quantity and Unit Price columns to get an amount in the Total column. The Total column is locked for calculations.
Printer problems with HP LaserJet Series II and Travel Expenditure Voucher
If you have a HP LaserJet Series II printer you may experience problems with printing the Travel Expenditure Voucher. Please try to print this on another printer. The problem normally results from the small memory (512KB) of the HP LaserJet Series II printer. If you have extra memory it may work okay. Currently we are working on the Travel Expenditure Voucher to fix this problem.
Macintosh download problem
If you cannot download a form, the problem could be caused by not having the correct conversion set-up within your computer (Apple File Exchange). Please check with your in-house computer support person for help, or contact the ATS Help Center.
Macintosh forms don’t fit on one page
You may experience problems with documents that won’t fit on one page. Although fonts used with University Forms are true type and supposed to work with both PC and Macintosh, this doesn’t seem to be the case. Some fonts are larger on the Macintosh causing it to overflow the page. These are some suggestions that may correct the problem.
- First, try using the printing instructions to fit the document on one page (under File, Page Setup).
- If there is still a problem, use the Protection feature under Tools to unprotect the document. Adjust some of the column widths. Use the Protection feature again to protect the document. Save the changes and close.
- If it still doesn’t fit, use the Unprotect/Protect feature under Tools, and change the font to Helvetica.
